Devlog #1 - The Basics

First I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for checking out my game and reading the development log. Purify is in very early stages of development and is my first game that I am making solo.

What I have completed so far in the development for this game is the attacks that the player character will be able to do, the movement as well as the ability to damage the first enemy type "Skeleton" I'm planning on taking the development a bit more seriously and hope to make leaps with every dev log I post to show case the different things that I have created.

Below is a small showcase of the abilities that the player character will be able to do.

Left Click - Quick Attack
Q - Area of Effect Attack
E - Ranged Attack
Space Bar - Dodge

In the future the player will also be able to summon a magical shield to protect themselves from incoming damage, however to properly work on this I will need to have something that can do damage to the player. That is why the next stage is the Skeleton enemy.

That is my plan for the following week, I hope to do these development updates each week to discuss my progress and to also discuss the plans for the coming week. As stated the Skeleton is my next big stage, however my plan to start that will happen towards the end of the coming week, the next step in this stage of development is to flesh out the level more, giving it some life as well as a little bit of death as per the theme.

I do hope you follow the progress and let me know what you think, feedback is important and I'd like this to be a successful project.

Before I go, here is a blueprint I made to procedurally generate graves, this way each grave was the same distance away from the path, but had different head stones and whether or not there would be a fence around it. Admittedly I did this to save time so that I wouldn't have to create every grave by hand, but this also fits in with how I want my came to be, a new environment every time.
